Twentymile River Trail (INHT) ECI Architects/USFS Design & Consulting, 2025
In 2024-2025, IT partnered with our friends, and long-time collaborators at ECI Architects, to provide the US Forest Service a Preliminary Alignment Report for the last unsolved challenge of the Iditarod National Historic Trail route connecting Turnagain Arm via the Rosehip Creek Bridge to Berry Pass & Girdwood. Our work included aerial helicopter reconnaissance, ground-based terrain analysis, map work and analysis, and trail design narrative.
Alaska Long Trail, Hatcher Pass to Talkeetna Alaska Trails Design & Consulting, 2025-2026

Tierra del Fuego Peace Trail Patagonia, Argentina Consulting, 2019
Interior Trails provided consulting services, including construction strategy and budgeting, and conducted a five day field-site visit for this ambitious private project with the goal of connecting the southern tips of Argentina and Chile by trail.
Anadromous Stream Armored Crossing Design Dry Bay, Glacier Bay National Park Consulting & Design, 2017-2018
In coordination with local and regional NPS staff, RPK Engineers, and RIM architects, Interior Trails designed a 250' scalable armored stream crossing, fabricated out of on-site or locally available materials & equipment for this incredibly remote region of SE Alaska.
Saltery Cove Trail Kodiak Island Assessment, Prescription, Costing, & Construction, 2016 Saltery Cove is a well-loved subsistence trail on Kodiak Island that traverses a river valley, an alpine pass, and severely saturated ground to end up on a remote section of coast inaccessible by road. Island Trails Network and IT partnered on this multi-year project for Kodiak Island Borough, which included planning, assessment, prescription, costing & implementation of recommended solutions.
Rex Trail Alaska DNR Assessment, Prescription, Costing, Design & Layout, 2014 IT worked for Alaska DNR to provide technical consulting for repair or reroute on 10 miles of several degraded multi-use trail to help restore access to state lands following contentious legal disputes. Work included assessment, prescription, costing of alternatives suitable for RFP, as well as flagging, and clearing reroute alignment.
